Amanda's passion for design and organizing go back to her days re-arranging her bedroom furniture and color-coding her clothes. After graduating magna cum laude from the College of Wooster, a small liberal arts college, she began her career working for a charity for abused children. After six years, she was presented with the opportunity to live in South Africa where she cared for eight young girls orphaned due to the AIDS pandemic. During these years, opportunities to fulfill Amanda's passion for organizing and interior design kept presenting themselves. During her time at the charity she helped renovate group homes for teenagers, working with each teen to personalize their room through paint colors and bedding - showing them how to make big changes with little to no budget.

Witnessing the power that organizing and design can have on a person's emotions, Amanda decided to transform her passion into a career. After returning to the States, she studied interior design and channeled her passion into her current firm, Simplify. Since 2008, she and her team have worked one-on-one with clients to organize and design their homes into peaceful, efficient sanctuaries.

Even though Amanda's days are spent working with clients, her passion to help those in need is never far from her heart. Having an insider's perspective into how often group homes and shelters are inadequately designed, Amanda donates her time to a chosen charity each year to help them re-organize and re-design their rooms into peaceful, beautiful and functional spaces. With her help, these organizations are transforming lives by providing a positive environment that empowers.
